Roxie Ellingson Funeral services for Roxie L. Ellingson, age 49, of Watertown, SD will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2007 in the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, Watertown, SD. Rev. Tom Christenson will officiate. Music will be provided by Marian Riddle, organist, and G. Paul Larson, soloist. Roxie died peacefully at home with her husband and son by her side on August 13, 2007.

Burial, at a later date, will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be: Moffatt Products Employees, Al and Steph Ries and family, Doug and “her special angel” Barb Schmidtgal and family, Jay and Penny Adler and family, and Roxie’s nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be: Tyler Meyer, Chase Kingren, Wyatt Kingren, Vince Gray, Joey Peterson, and Brian Wibbels.

Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday preceding services at the church. The family is requested to meet at the church on Friday by 10:30 a.m. for a prayer service.

Roxie was born on March 2, 1958 at Carroll, IA to Howard and Arline (Fischer) Mather. She attended school in Moorhead, MN and graduated in 1976. She was active in orchestra and played with the Apollo Strings as a violinist. Following graduation, she worked at Hornbachers Grocery in West Fargo, ND.

Roxie met Jim Ellingson in 1983 and they were married on April 27, 1985 in Fargo, ND. Following marriage, the couple lived in Adams, ND for one year until moving to Watertown, SD in 1987. Roxie worked at Spies and then Moffatt’s for nineteen years. Travis was born in 1991 and he was her pride and joy.

She was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Roxie enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, boating, fishing, and golfing. She also enjoyed bowling and darts. Roxie especially enjoyed her family, friends, and life in general.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Watertown, SD; one son, Travis Ellingson, of Watertown, SD; her father and step-mother, Howard and Clarice Mather, of Watertown, SD and her mother, Arline Mather of Grand Forks, ND; one brother, John and his wife, Wendy Mather, of Moorhead, MN; two sisters, Jean Kingren of Ramsey, MN and Debbie and her husband, Nate Larson, of Grand Forks, ND; and two step-brothers, Duane and his wife, Mary Amiot, of Chaska, MN and Darrel and his wife, Virginia Amiot, of Eden Prairie, MN.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Kirk Kingren.
