 Memorial services for Janice M. Woods, age 71, of Watertown, SD will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown. Pastor Greg Berkey will officiate. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Wednesday by 12:30 p.m. to attend the service. Janice passed away at her residence in Watertown. She was the widow of Jerald “Jerry” Woods.
Burial will be in the Ortley Cemetery, Ortley, SD. Janice was born on July 16, 1936 to Eric and Thelma (Thompson) Heuer in Codington Co. She attended Watertown High School with the class of 1955, Watertown, SD. Janice married Jerry Woods on August 16, 1958 at Watertown, SD. Following marriage, the couple lived in various areas, moving to Watertown, SD in 1961. Janice was a homemaker most of her life. Janice was a member of First Baptist Church, Watertown, SD. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, pro-wrestling, western movies, her cats, visiting, and playing Bingo. Janice is survived by two sons: Steve and his wife, Diane Woods, of Milbank, SD, and Mike Woods of Sioux Falls, SD; two daughters: Lori Pies of Ortley, SD, and Cindy and her husband, Brian Hoeke, of Carrollton, GA; seven grandchildren: Jason Pies, Rebecca and her husband, Chris Hinkelman, Erica and her husband, Brian Eck, Herschel Pies, Sara Woods, Stephanie Woods, and Heather Matus; and three great-grandchildren: Makayla Pies, Jackson Pies, and Madelyn Hinkelman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her parents, one infant son, and one son-in-law, Joel Pies. |
