 Irene Reis passed away on October 24, 2007 at a care center in Watertown, SD.
Irene was born on March 9, 1926 at Burnstadt, ND to Reinhold and Katie (Eisenbeis) Fischer. Irene raised her 4 children on her own in Seattle, WA. She braided her own wool rugs. She did housecleaning and cooked in a hospital in Seattle. She moved to Watertown, SD in 1992. She worked at Senior Companions in Watertown for 9 years. She greatly enjoyed cooking with her grandchildren, watching Little House on the Prairie, and spending time with her family. She entered Jenkins Living Center in August of 2006; where she resided until the time of her death. Irene is survived by two sons: Kenneth Reis of Watertown, SD, and Monte and his wife, Penny Reis, of Watertown, SD; one daughter, Valerie and her husband, Mike Barnes, of Watertown, SD; two sisters: Esther Sandmeier of Bowdle, SD, and Frieda Malsom of Yuma, AZ; one sister-in-law, Fran Fischer of Anderson, SC; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and another one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Scott Reis, three brothers, and one sister. There will be no services at this time. |
