 Memorial services for Muriel Agnes Grigg, age 92, of Watertown, SD will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2007 in the Immaculate Conception Church, Watertown, SD. Fr. James Bream will officiate. Muriel passed away on December 3, 2007 at a care center in Watertown.
Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Clark, SD at a later date in the spring. Cemetery, Clark, SD. Music will be provided by the Immaculate Conception Church Choir. Muriel was born on August 9, 1915 at Clark, SD to Richard Enoch and Agnes Josephine (Craney) Grigg. She graduated from Clark High School, Clark, SD and Columbia College, Sioux Falls, SD, where she received her teacher’s certificate. She taught for three years in Clark Co., and was then employed by Dakota Central Telephone Co. and Northwestern Bell in Watertown, Pierre, and Aberdeen, SD. She served in the directory and administrative departments and then retired and moved to Watertown in 1978. Muriel was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Patrick’s Altar Society, Benedictine Oblate of the Mother of God Monastery, Watertown, the Cursilla Movement, Lake Region Hospice, Prairie Lakes Hospital Auxiliary, and Telephone Pioneers of America. She was an Eucharistic visitor for the Immaculate Conception Church parish, held offices in several organizations, and was on the Board of Directors for the Credit Union and Hospice. During her retirement, she enjoyed caring for her sisters, Dorothy and Isabelle. Muriel is survived by her nephews: Richard Parkhill of Racine, WI and Jim Parkhill of Elk River, MN; several grand nieces and nephews; and her dear friends: Jane Skatvold, JoAnn Oswald, and Ruth Hunter. |
