Funeral services for Audrey Marguerite Phillips Frentz, age 81, of Watertown, SD will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2007 in the Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown, SD. Rev. Stephen Lauricella will officiate. Audrey passed away on December 17, 2007 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She was the widow of Hugo Frentz. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be Audrey’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and special friends and neighbors. Active pallbearers will be: Chris (Chip) Premus, Ron Dylla, Jerry Riley, Chuck Kurkosky, Wayne Heuer, and Dennis Garvey. Music will be provided by Marcia Jelsma, organist, and Judy Everson, soloist. Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday preceding services at the church. The family is requested to meet at the church on Friday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service. Audrey was born on May 29, 1926 at Lake Preston, SD to Claude and Mina (Colby) Phillips. She attended school at Bruce, SD. Audrey married Hugo Frentz on March 24, 1947 at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, SD. The couple farmed near Summit, SD until the fall of 1962. They then moved into Watertown. Audrey provided childcare, worked at Baskin Robbins, Fancy Finds, and in apartment rental management. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed working outdoors, playing cards and dominos, camping and having coffee with her friends and neighbors. Audrey enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandson in stockcar racing. She is survived by three daughters: Marilyn Swenson of Rogers, MN, Dorothy and her husband, Duane Dohman of Watertown, SD, and Claudia Frentz of Watertown, SD; three brothers-in-law, Gilbert and his wife, Elnore Frentz, and Vic Frentz all of Watertown, SD, and Harold and his wife, Janis Frentz, of Sioux Falls, SD; one sister-in-law, Ramona Hjellming of Watertown, SD; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband in 1995 and her parents.
