Funeral services for Kenneth L. Scott, age 50, of Watertown, SD will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2008 in the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Watertown, SD. Rev. Iver Possehl will officiate. Kenneth passed away on January 2, 2008 at a hospital in Watertown, SD. Burial will be at the Bemis Cemetery, Bemis, SD at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth’s nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be: Roger Ries, Dean Howard, Al Penning, Terry Lohr, Kevin Coleman, Al Schmidt, and Darrell “Red” Anderson. Music will be provided by Sharon Falk, organist, and Don Seim, soloist. Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday preceding services at the church. The family is requested to meet at the church on Saturday by 10:00 a.m. for a family prayer service. Kenneth was born on November 5, 1957 at Volga, SD to Merwin and Janet (Alt) Scott. He attended grade school in Florence, SD and graduated from high school in Watertown, SD in 1976. Following graduation, Kenneth worked for Watertown Mercantile. He later drove truck for Lays Potato Chips, LEEF, and DHL. He was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Kenneth enjoyed NASCAR and driving his race car at Casino Race Track. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Kenneth is survived by two sons: Mathew Scott and his fiancé, Lindsay Strube, and Daniel Scott all of Aberdeen, SD; one daughter, Rachel and her husband, Mark Reihe, of Watertown, SD; his father, Merwin, and step-mother, Leone Scott, of Kranzburg, SD and his mother, Janet Scott, and her special friend, Roger Benthin, of Watertown, SD; two brothers: Kevin and his wife, Barbara Scott, of North Mankato, MN and Kerry and his wife, Audrey Scott, of Lake Poinsett, SD; one sister, Karla Comrie of Rapid City, SD; special friend, Marsha Kapp, of Watertown, SD; step-brothers and sisters: Kathy and Ron Drobeck, Tuscson, AZ, Laurel Egeberg of Sioux Falls, SD, LaWayne and Cindy Egeberg, Hazen, ND, Jim and Nenita Egeberg of Oak Park, IL, Julie Deville, of Watertown, SD, Kimberly and Rob Kontz of Chamberlain, SD, and Tami and Darrin Pescell of Webster, SD and three grandchildren: Anne, Garet, and Owen. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
