 Funeral services for Lorelei Roneau Wait, age 69, of Watertown, SD will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2008 in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown. Pastor LeRoy Wasland will officiate. Music will be provided by A.J. Sherrill, organist and Don Seim, soloist. Lorelei passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at a care center in Watertown.
Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Jenkins Living Center. Active pallbearers will be: Stanley Monson, Sr., Stanley Monson, Jr., Roger LeCount, Duayne Singrey, Darwin Audus and Virgil Audus. Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m., prior to services. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Saturday by 12:30 p.m. to attend the services. Lorelei was born on August 29, 1938 at the Bartron Hospital in Watertown, SD to Jerome and Lorna (LeCount) Wait. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Ray “Curly” Messerschmidt. Lorelei was a very special, loving person who loved people and especially her cats. She moved to Jenkins Living Center when her mother passed away in 2004. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watertown. Lorelei enjoyed watching T.V. and her DVD movies. She also liked to read and play Bingo. Her favorite pastime was listening to western music, especially her favorite group, ‘Lonesome Rail’, who entertained at the care center. Lorelei is survived by one half-brother; three half-sisters; one aunt, Melvina LeCount; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her step-father, her maternal grandparents and her paternal grandparents. The family would like to thank Dr. Likness and the staff at Jenkins Living Center for the wonderful love and care that they gave Lorelei. |
