Funeral Mass for Valerie (Mrs. Michael) Murphy, age 54, of Watertown, SD will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 in the Holy Name Catholic Church, Watertown, SD. Fr. John Lantsberger will officiate. Music will be provided by Jane Rokusek, organist and Becky Lubbers and John Stengle, vocalists. Valerie passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 at a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Active pallbearers will be: Pat Haisch, Scott Haisch, Pat Murphy, Doug Murphy, Tom Murphy, and Rich Murphy. Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Scripture Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday prior to the services at the church. The family is requested to meet at the church on Tuesday by 10:00 a.m. to attend the service. Valerie was born on November 19, 1953 at Freeman, SD to Athniel and Marjorie (Daub) Haisch. She grew up and went to school in Menno, SD. Valerie graduated from SDSU in Brookings, SD in 1976 and then went to work for the SD State Department of Social Services, first in Sisseton, SD and then in Watertown, SD for 14 years. She has worked for the Watertown School District for the past 15 years. Valerie was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. She loved her family, friends, co-workers, and her home. Valerie is survived by her husband, Michael, of Watertown, SD; her son, Ryan Murphy, of Fargo, ND; her mother, Marjorie Haisch of Menno, SD; two brothers: Patrick Haisch of Gayville, SD and Scott and his wife, Denise Haisch, of Storm Lake, IA; one sister, Denise and Mike Hento of Avon, SD; her mother-in-law, Joanne Murphy of Watertown, SD; four brothers-in-law: Patrick and his wife Barb Murphy, of Atlanta, GA, Douglas and his wife, Janet Murphy, of Rapid City, SD, Thomas Murphy of Dallas, TX, and Richard and his wife, Karen Murphy, of Rapid City, SD; two sisters-in-law: Catherine Bouskill and Janice Oaks, both of Watertown, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Athniel and her father. |
