Morris R. McGeough Funeral Mass for Morris R. McGeough, age 84, of Watertown, SD will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Watertown, SD. Fr. James Bream will officiate. Music will be provided by the I.C. Church Choir. Morris passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2008 in a care center in Watertown.

Burial will be in the Collins Cemetery, Willow Lake, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be Morris’ grandchildren: Mandy, Melissa and Richie. Active pallbearers will be: Wayne Meester, Bob Synstad, Curtis Hall, Roger Ruud and Bill McGeough.

Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. Scripture Wake service and Thursday prior to services at the church. The family is requested to meet at the church on Thursday by 9:30 a.m. to attend the services.

Morris was born on April 19, 1923 at Willow Lake, SD to William and Elsie (Wulke) McGeough. He attended rural school near Willow Lake and graduated from Willow Lake High School. Morris farmed with his parents and later farmed on his own.

Morris married Imelda Marsh. The couple farmed together until retirement when they started traveling to various places in the U.S. Imelda passed away in 1992. Morris continued to live on the farm until 1995. On May 13, 1995, Morris married Mae Hall in Wisconsin. They moved to Watertown and have resided here since. Morris and Mae spent their winters in Casa Grande, AZ.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Morris loved gardening, lawn work, playing pool and dancing.

Morris is survived by his wife, Mae, of Watertown; one daughter, Michelle, and her husband, Rick Chapin, of Queen Creek, AZ; four step-children: Curtis and his wife, Peggy Hall, of Blaine, MN; Dorothy and her husband, Bob Synstad, and Linda and her husband, Wayne Meester, all of Watertown, SD; and Marsha Hall and her companion, Roger Ruud, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter, Ayla; nine step-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; two brothers: John McGeough of New Jersey and Bernard McGeough of Brookings, SD; and four sisters: Lillian Palmer of Reno, Nevada; Margaret Ahlemeyer and Beatrice Higgins both of New Jersey; and Phyllis Devereux of Garden Grove, CA.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents and one sister, Leona.
