Darwin D. Krueger Funeral services for Darwin D. Krueger “the Ol’ Dad”, age 59, of Henry, SD will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at First United Methodist Church, Watertown, SD. Rev. Eric Grinager will officiate. Music will be provided by Dorothy Brugman as organist with congregational singing. Darwin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at his home surrounded by family.

Burial will be at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Darwin’s fellow ‘Hot Rodders’. Active pallbearers will be: Shadoe Krueger, Kurt Kahre, Scott George, Rusty Carlson, Austin Dahl and Randy Gribble.

Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday prior to services at the church. The family is requested to meet at the church on Saturday by 1:30 p.m. for a prayer service.

Darwin was born on October 3, 1948 at Watertown, SD to Fred V. and Dorothy (McPeek) Krueger. He attended Watertown High School.

On September 6, 1970 Darwin married Gail L. Anderson at Watertown, SD. The couple lived in Watertown where Darwin worked for Minnesota Rubber and later for Randy Gribble. He also worked for Bishman/ Amtec Corporation for 15 years. Darwin and Gail started Blondie’s Catering in Watertown. In 1999, they moved to Henry and Darwin worked in maintenance for the city of Henry. He most recently was employed again by Minnesota Rubber and belonged to the 2357 Union at Minnesota Rubber.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Darwin was also a member of the BRO Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed remodeling his home and garages, attending car races, restoring and cruising old cars and attending the ‘Back to the 50’s’ in St. Paul, MN. Darwin loved spending time with his family, his cats and listening to music. He was always known as “the Ol’ Dad”.

Darwin is survived by his wife, Gail, and one son, Shadoe Krueger, of Henry, SD; four daughters: Gwen and her husband, Kurt Kahre; Karmon and her husband, Scott George; Crystal and her husband, Rusty Carlson; and Corrine and her husband, Austin Dahl, all of Watertown, SD; two brothers: Danny Raye and his wife, Deb Krueger, of Watertown, SD and Donnie and his wife, Brenda Krueger, of Bellevue, NE; two sisters: Doris Toepke and Darlene and her husband, Kenny Ragels, all of Watertown, SD; one brother-in-law, Danny Hall, of Watertown, SD and seven grandchildren: Karlee, Kam, Jackson, Brenna, Dravyn, Alex and Ruthie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Diane Hall.
