 Funeral services for Wilhelmina “Willie” Peterson, age 87, of Hayti, SD will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2008 in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD. Rev. Randy Eisenbeisz will officiate. Music will be provided by Marcia Jelsma, organist, and Judy Everson, soloist. Willie passed away on Monday, May 12, 2008 in the hospital in Watertown. She was the widow of Arthur O. Peterson.
Burial will be in the West Norden Cemetery, Hayti. Pallbearers will be David Pedersen, Duane Heibult, Don Bruinsma and Cory Bruinsma. Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Hayti, on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Thursday prior to services at the chapel in Watertown. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Thursday by 1:00 p.m. for a family prayer service. Willie was born on January 10, 1921, at Dempster, SD to Richard and Jabena (Hector) Heibult. She completed eight years of school. Willie worked at the Estelline Creamery for several years until her marriage. On January 19, 1960, Willie married Arthur O. Peterson at Canton, SD. She babysat with small children in her home in Hayti for a number of years. After she stopped caring for children, she settled into being a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and knitting. Willie lived in Hayti until the time of her death. Willie is survived by one son, Robert Heibult, of Brookings, SD; one brother, Harlan, and his wife, Cleone Heibult, of Brookings, SD; one sister, Judy, and her husband, Donald Bruinsma, of Estelline, SD; two grandchildren: Heather Kolstad and Duane Heibult; and three great grandchildren: Parker, Cooper and Tyran. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. |
