Funeral services for David Arlo Leddy, age 51, of Watertown, SD will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in the Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown, SD. Rev. Stephen Lauricella will officiate. Music will be provided by Marcia Jelsma, organist, and Judy Everson, soloist. David passed away on November 13, 2008 at a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Milbank, SD. Honorary Pallbearers will be the B.R.O. Club Members. Active pallbearers will be: Charlie Berkner, Curt Berkner, Thomas McMillan, Kevin Lenards, Joe Jipp, and Ron Bailey. Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD on Monday from 4-7 p.m. and in the church on Tuesday preceding the services. The family is requested to meet at the church on Tuesday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service. David was born on October 23, 1957 at Milbank, SD to Arlo and Shirley (Jurgens) Leddy. He attended and graduated from South Shore High School. He then attended Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD. David married Cherie Schwinger in Florence, SD on June 30, 1979. On June 8, 2007, he married Laura Melcher in Watertown, SD. David worked on the North Border Pipeline. He also worked for the State of SD and for the city of Watertown. While working for the State, he worked as a mechanic on the vehicles used to fight fires in the Black Hills. David was a member of B.R.O. Motorcycle Club, NRA, and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He loved riding his Harley and was an avid outdoorsman. He owned muscle cars and drag raced in his early twenties. He is survived by his wife, Laura, of Watertown, SD; three sons: Chad Leddy of Minneapolis, MN, and Joshua Leddy and Jamie Leddy both of Huron, SD; one daughter, Christine Shephard of Watertown, SD; one step-daughter, Amanda and her husband, Daniel Greeley, of Watertown, SD; one step-son, Seth Owen, of Watertown, SD; his mother, Shirley Leddy of Stockholm, SD; two brothers: Dan Leddy of Cleburne, TX and Donnie and his wife, Krecia Leddy and their children, of Stockholm, SD. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
