 Memorial services for Denise A. Matt, age 47, of Watertown, SD, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at the Watertown Wesleyan Church, Watertown. The family is requested to meet at the church on Thursday by 10:30 a.m. for a prayer service. Pastor Jim Biswell will officiate. Music will be provided by Pastor Jim and Peggy Biswell. Denise passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2008, at a care center in Watertown. Arrangements are being handled by the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Denise was born on December 25, 1960, at Aberdeen, SD, to Walter and Shirley (Hakanson) Jahraus. She graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1979, moving to Rapid City soon thereafter. She worked at various jobs which included managing rental properties. She moved back to Aberdeen and later moved to Watertown in 2003. Denise assisted Dale McElhany of Watertown with his rental properties. She was a member of the Watertown Wesleyan Church. She loved spending time with her dogs and enjoyed gardening and cooking. Denise was a free spirit who loved life. Denise is survived by her fiancé, Paul Schlimmer, of Watertown, her mother, Shirley, of Aberdeen, two sisters: Sue and her husband, Randy Stanley, of Groton, SD, Pam and her husband, Craig Birch, of Fargo, ND, and; two nieces and three nephews: Erica, Chelsey, and Brandon Stanley, of Groton, and Colin and Cole Birch, of Fargo. She was preceded in death by her father, an infant sister, and her maternal and paternal grandparents. |
