 Funeral services for Ron Dean Swanson, age 51, of Watertown, SD, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2009, in the Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown. Rev. Stephen Lauricella will officiate. Music will be provided by Marcia Jelsma, organist, and Tammy Tipton, soloist. Ron passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009, in Watertown.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Clark, SD. Pallbearers will be Fred Grimes, Lonnie Swanson, Joe Guest, and Aaron Gruby. Visitation will be on Thursday, prior to services at the church. The family is requested to meet at the church on Thursday, by 12:00 p.m. for a prayer service. Arrangements are being handled by Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown. Ron was born on April 17, 1957, at Pierre, SD, to Frank and Della (Whetzel) Swanson. He attended school in Henry, SD. Following school, Ron married Sandy Gross at Brookings, SD, and then moved to Colorado, where he worked in construction. Ron moved to Watertown in 1988 and has lived here since. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Ron enjoyed doing handyman projects and spending time with his grandchildren. Ron is survived by one daughter, Kristine Swanson, and her fiancé, Aaron Gruby, both of Watertown, SD; one sister, Linda Kranz, of Canton, SD; two nephews, Lonnie Swanson and Joe Guest; two nieces, Jessica Guest and Tammy Tipton; his companion, Susan Kittelson, of Watertown, SD; his special friends, Jenny and Emily Kittelson; and five grandchildren: Trevor Dean, Marcus Lee, Kasandra Kay, Larry, and Levi. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Anderson; his parents; and one sister, Sherry Guest. |
