Funeral Mass for Agnes Rose (Lavery) Heim, age 85, of Watertown, SD, and formerly of Goodwin, SD, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in Immaculate Conception Church, Watertown, SD. Rev. Joseph Forcelle will officiate. Music will be provided by Leanne Geissinger, organist, with the Immaculate Conception Choir. Agnes passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at a care center in Watertown, SD. She was the widow of Vernon F. Heim. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Kranzburg, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be Agnes’ granddaughters, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson. Active pallbearers will be Agnes’ grandsons: Jason Heim, Steven Moore, Brian Len, Brandon Heim, Mike Heim, Scott Len, Robert Heim, William Heim, Chase Hjermstad, and Phillip Dell. Visitation will be in Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD on Monday from 3 - 7:00 p.m. with a C.D.A. Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and a Scripture Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. The family is requested to meet at the church on Tuesday by 9:45 a.m. to attend the services. Agnes Rose Lavery was born on March 30, 1923 at Estelline, SD to James J. and Mary E. (Mack) Lavery. She attended school in Estelline and graduated from Estelline High School in 1941. On October 30, 1945, Agnes married Vernon Heim in Estelline, SD. The couple farmed for ten years. In 1956, the couple moved to Kranzburg and in 1964, they moved to Goodwin, SD. Agnes worked in Watertown until her retirement from Midtex. Following her husband’s death in 1999, she moved to Watertown. Agnes was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, C.D.A., and was a former member of Holy Rosary Church in Kranzburg. She enjoyed making Rosaries, crocheting, gardening, and completing word searches and puzzles. She is survived by eight children: James Heim of Hopkins, MN, Teresa and her husband, Rodger Hermans, of Seattle, WA, Michael Heim, Dennis and his wife, Sylvia Heim, Elaine Heim, and Barbara and her husband, Patrick Dell, all of Watertown, SD, John Heim of Seattle, WA, and Patty and her husband, Ray Hjermstad, of Florence, SD; one sister, Anna Marie Kaiser of Yakima, WA; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Heim of Watertown, SD; and one son-in-law, Lenard B. Len of Des Moines, WA. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, David and Edward; one daughter, Mary Len; one sister, Frances Keimig, an infant brother, Joseph, and her parents.

Agnes Rose Lavery was born on March 30, 1923 at Estelline, SD to James J. and Mary E. (Mack) Lavery. She attended school in Estelline and graduated from Estelline High School in 1941.

On October 30, 1945, Agnes married Vernon Heim in Estelline, SD. The couple farmed for ten years. In 1956, the couple moved to Kranzburg and in 1964, they moved to Goodwin, SD. Agnes worked in Watertown until her retirement from Midtex. Following her husband’s death in 1999, she moved to Watertown.

Agnes was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, C.D.A., and was a former member of Holy Rosary Church in Kranzburg. She enjoyed making Rosaries, crocheting, gardening, and completing word searches and puzzles.
