Funeral services for Ethel “Dolly” (Mrs. Stanley) Dalrymple, age 79, of McEwen, TN, formerly of Watertown, SD, will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown. Rev. Stephen Lauricella will officiate. Music will be provided by Dorothy Brugman, organist and Sara Olson, Lila Page, and Kelly German, vocalists. Dolly passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at a care center in Waverly, TN.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Dolly’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be: Gene Dalrymple, Rick Dalrymple, Clint Page, Christopher Page, Stephen Evrard, and Jack Evans. Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and in the church on Tuesday prior to services. The family is requested to meet at the church on Tuesday by 9:30 a.m. for a prayer service. Dolly was born on January 13, 1930 in Doland, SD to Charles and Mildred (Shiek) Carlson. She attended Doland High School and graduated from there in 1948. After graduation, she attended St. John’s School of Nursing in Huron, SD. On January 31, 1953, Dolly married Stanley Dalrymple in Miller, SD. She worked two years at Memorial Hospital and 32 years at St. Ann’s Hospital in Watertown, SD. Following retirement, she continued living in Watertown until moving to McEwen, TN in 2008. Dolly enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed having coffee with “the girls”. She is survived by her husband, Stanley, of McEwen, TN; two sons: Eugene (Sue) Dalrymple of Port Orchard, WA and Richard (Cheryl) Dalrymple of Racine, WI; three daughters: Carol (Stephen) Evrard of McEwen, TN, Doris Stamp of Sioux Falls, SD, and Debbie (Jack) Evans of League City, TX; two brothers: Alfred (Markie) Carlson of Wheaton, MN and Charles Carlson of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters: Ida Tiff of Redfield, SD and Minnie Binger of Sturgis, SD; numerous nieces and nephews; ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Charlotte McGuire; two half brothers, Reno Jones and Clayton Jones; and two half sisters: Betty Shilling and Marie Jones. |

| Dolly was my aunt she was a wonderful person. I loved hearing the stories of all the babies she helped bring into this world, She was a very special person |
