Cecelia A. Streich Funeral Mass for Cecelia A. Streich, age 86, of Watertown, SD, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Fr. Joe Forcelle will officiate. Music will be provided by Leanne Giessinger as organist with the I.C. Church Choir. Cecelia passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009, at a local care center. She was the widow of Henry Streich.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be the “Rosary Makers”, and Kristy Johnson, Colleen Vavruska, Amy Christenson, Ann Dalton, Millie Kuhlman, and Florence Stahl. Active pallbearers will be Cecelia’s grandsons: Theron Stephens, Jeremy Meyer, Jason Kemnitz, Nicholas Sellers, Jacob Sellers, and Robert Ferguson.

Visitation will be at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. Rosary led by the “Rosary Makers” followed by a 7:00 p.m. Scripture Wake service. Visitation will continue on Friday morning prior to services at the church. The family is requested to meet at the church on Friday by 9:30 a.m. to attend the services.

Cecelia was born on February 20, 1923, in Grenville, SD, to John and Valeria (Lewno) Block. She attended rural school near Grenville and then worked as a waitress.

On November 24, 1942, Cecelia married Henry Streich at Coeur d’Alene, ID. Following Henry’s discharge from the service, the couple moved to a farm north of Sisseton, SD, and then moved to Sisseton in 1969, and to Watertown in 1971. Cecelia worked at St. Ann’s Hospital and then at Sioux Valley Floral and Nursery.

She was a member of I.C. Church, C.D.A., I.C. Rosary Makers, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Cecelia enjoyed flowers, flowers, and more flowers, doing beadwork, making rosaries and other crafts. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Cecelia is survived by four daughters: Patti (Dean) Harrison of Denver, CO, Mavis Kemnitz of Watertown, SD, Darlene (Paul) Meyer of Benson, MN, and Sherri (Jerry) Sellers of Watertown, SD; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 2003; one son, Earl; two grandchildren; her parents; and one son-in-law, “Kem.”
