Sorry to hear of the loss of another shipmate. I left the Lower Sioux Indian reservation in 1947 and attended school in De Smet, SD. I knew kids from Hayti because we played six-man football in those days and Hayti provided us with some stiff competition, even though they were not in our district.

David "Skunk" Schoonover was a very close friend of mine while we were in the Navy. We were stationed in VQ-1 at Atsugi, Japan and Agana, Guam. Over the years, I lost contact with Skunk and am sorry to hear of his passing. I still see his smiling face at our many bar-b-ques! David is one person I will remember forever.
Rest in peace my friend.

To the family of David, I know alot of time has passed since his passing but I just want to tell you I served in Vietnam with him and I knew him to be a fine sailor and a staunch shipmate you could count on. He will be long rembered by those of us who served with him in VQ-1 in Vietnam.
May he have fair winds and following seas as he makes his final journey west.
Sincerely,
Allan Prevette

I am so sorry about your loss. I didn't know your dad, but was a friend of your uncle Joe and your mom. She was quite a lady. It is never easy to lose someone you love, but to lose both parents in such a short time must be especially tough. I will keep you in my prayers.

Jeff,
We are so sorry to hear about your Dad. It's been a tough year for you. There's nothing harder than losing a parent. I still remember when Dave lived out here in Colorado, it seems like it was yesterday, lots of memories. We will miss him.
Love,
Shannon and Gary

Dear Jeff and Family,

"Do not be anxious about anything but in everything (not "for" but "in" everything), by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And may the peace that passes all undertanding guard and keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7--this is the verse I held onto after my Mom died and there was unbelievable peace. I pray the same for you.

I am so thankful that your Mom and Dad and mine were such good firends. I know t

Jeff and Angie, so very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. You three are the family now. I am glad that he did not have to suffer with a long illness. He is now with your mom, both at peace.

Our prayers are with all of you. God Bless you three, for all that you have been through and all of the help that you were to both parents.

Dear Jeff, Angie, and Mackenzie:

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Dad. It just does not seem fair to lose both parents in such a short period of time. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers; I have continued to think about you every day since your Mom passed away and will continue to do so. I am just very thankful that your Dad got to share in yours and Angie's special day in September. God Bless You All
