     Funeral services for Gordy A. Lyons, age 32, of Watertown, SD will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown.  Rev. Roger Spahr will officiate.  Music will be provided by Dorothy Brugman, organist, and Jackie Wettestad, soloist.  Gordy passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at his residence in Watertown.



     Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Clark, SD.  Pallbearers will be:  Eric Davis, Chris Kuno, Justin Henrichsen, J.J. Tippie, Bob Bull, Rick Bull, Tom Henning, Casey Hershman, and Taylor Yexley.



     Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. and in the chapel Saturday prior to services.  The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Saturday by 9:30 a.m. for a prayer service.



     Gordy was born on March 31, 1977 in Rapid City, SD to Donald and Betty (Bull) Lyons.  He was baptized on March 31, 1985 in Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown by Pastor Bob Dovenmuehler and confirmed on October 27, 1991 in Abiding Hope Lutheran Church, Littleton, CO by Pastor Chris Brekke.  Gordy attended school in Watertown before moving to Littleton, CO.  He later moved to Rapid City, SD.



     On September 7, 2002 Gordy married Jessica Braun in Rapid City, SD.  The couple lived in Rapid City where he operated Off Road West for awhile, worked various other jobs, and then worked for Twisted Customs.  He and Jessica moved to Watertown in January of 2007 where he worked at Dynamic Engineering.  He later worked at Angus Palm and built Rock Crawlers out of his garage. 



     Gordy enjoyed building R.C. cars and riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes.  He also enjoyed fishing and racing cars at Nitro Hobbies. 



     Gordy is survived by his wife, Jessica, one son, Dylan, and one daughter, Coral, all of Watertown, SD; his parents, Donald (Cheryl) Lyons, of Rapid City, SD, and Betty (Steve) Yexley, of Littleton, CO; one brother, Taylor Yexley, and one sister, Kristen Yexley, both of Littleton, CO; his paternal grandmother, Shirley Lyons, of Rapid City, SD; his paternal grandfather, Donald Lyons, Sr., of Sturgis, SD; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Bull, of Watertown, SD; and his maternal grandfather, Robert W. Bull, of Clark, SD.   



     He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Loel Bull; and his step-maternal grandparents, Ernest and Helen Yexley.

So sorry I couldn't make the trip to Watertown with Kara this weekend. I am glad that we came in May to see you and will remember the fun times we had with Gordy while we were there. We will keep you in our nightly prayers and will be here for you. Love, Kevin
