Dolores E. Bullis

      Funeral services for Dolores Eilene Bullis, age 80, of Watertown, SD, formerly Mitchell, SD will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, SD.  Rev. John Hansen will officiate.  Dolores passed away on January 21, 2010 at her residence in Watertown.  She was the widow of Arnold Bullis.



     Burial will be American Legion Cemetery, Mitchell, SD.  Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends.  Active pallbearers will be Joshua Bullis, Simon Bullis, Zack Bullis, Lucas Mueller, Chris Barns, and Eric Bullis. 



     Visitation will be in Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell prior to the services on Wednesday.  The family is requested to meet at the chapel by 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday to attend the services.



     Funeral arrangements are being handled by Crawford Funeral Chapel of Watertown, SD.



     Dolores was born on July 3, 1929 in Sioux Falls, SD to Wesley and Mabel (Meyers) Saunders.  Shortly after birth, she moved with her parents to the Fedora, SD area where they lived on several farms.  At age 16, Dolores moved to Mitchell and worked at the Armour Creamery, and later at the Cab Company where she met her future husband.



     On January 2, 1947, Dolores married Arnold Bullis in Mitchell, SD.  Following her marriage, she remained at home raising her family.  Dolores started working at Randall’s as a checker in 1961.  She worked there until she retired in 1992. She then moved to Watertown, SD and worked at Wal-Mart until she retired due to health reasons. 



     Dolores enjoyed being with her family, writing in her journal, bowling, reading, collecting bells, and playing the organ by ear. 



     She is survived by five sons:  Stacy Bullis and Jeff Bullis both of Watertown, SD, Danny Bullis and Hilary Bullis both of Brookings, SD, and Arnie Bullis of Mitchell, SD; one daughter, Janice (Bill) Koehler of Watertown, SD; one sister, Carol Saunders of Rapid City, SD; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.



     Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, and one brother-in-law.

I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I remember her as such a sweet lady who always had a smile. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
