Lois M. Nogelmeier

     Funeral services for Lois M. Nogelmeier, age 88, of Clark, SD, formerly Watertown, SD, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Watertown.  Rev. Greg Berkey will officiate.  Music will be provided by Eloise Falk as organist and Darrel Crocker as soloist. Lois passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the hospital in Watertown.  She was the widow of Donald L. Nogelmeier.



     Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.  Honorary pallbearers will be all of Lois’ grandchildren and the staff at Golden LivingCenter in Clark.  Active pallbearers will be:  Todd Nogelmeier, Todd Stark, Rhonda Wine, Laurie Hegge, David Stark, and Jeff Stark.



     Visitation will be at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday prior to services at the church.  The family is requested to meet at the church on Saturday by 12:30 p.m. for a prayer service.



     Lois was born on September 22, 1921, at Willow Lake, SD, to Herman and Nellie Mae (Johnson) Tiggelaar.  She graduated from Willow Lake High School, Willow Lake, SD, in 1939. 



     On May 27, 1939, Lois married Donald Nogelmeier in Willow Lake.  The couple lived northwest of Willow Lake until 1940 when they moved to their farm southwest of Watertown.  They farmed until 1968 and then moved to Lake Kampeska.  Donald passed away in 1987 and Lois continued to live at their lake home until entering Sunchase Manor in 1989.  In 2007, she moved to Golden LivingCenter in Clark.



     She was a member of First Baptist Church. Lois enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and other children.  She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, fishing, watching the Minnesota Twins, and visiting with friends.



     Lois is survived by four children: Darwin Nogelmeier, Donald G. “Boomie” Nogelmeier, Doris (Donald) Stark, and Dona (Maynard) Groskreutz, all of Watertown, SD; 14 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Mary Kay) Tiggelaar, of Waterville, MN; and two daughters-in-law: Fern “Blondie” Nogelmeier of Watertown, SD, and Pattie Nogelmeier of Lawton, IA.



     She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Darrell and Delwyn “Skip”; one great-granddaughter, Emily Hegge; one daughter-in-law, Janice; and two brothers.

Don (Boomie) Tammy, Lori, and Kayla and families,
I want you to know that my family and I are very sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother, Boomie, and your dear Grandmother, girls. She was a wonderful woman whom I remember with fondness. Cling to the dear memories of her as you go through this difficult time.

Dorie and Family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. I know you two were very close, and you will miss her. Keep the good memories alive, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could be there to give you a big hug. Take care, my friend.
