Funeral services for Harley D. “Butch” Haugen, age 53, of Watertown, SD, formerly Wallace, SD, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown. LeRoy Wasland will officiate. Harley passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at his residence. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Pallbearers will be: Bill Wasland, Kevin Hagen, Bob Urevig, Dustin Davies, Gary Biberdorf, and John Steinmetz. Visitation will be at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday prior to services at the chapel. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Saturday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service. Harley was born on July 12, 1957, to Harlan and Mary (Moe) Haugen at Watertown, SD. He graduated from high school in Webster, SD, and attended Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown. Following his graduation, Harley farmed with his father in the Wallace area. He also owned an automotive shop by Wallace. Harley moved to Watertown where he started refinishing furniture. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and spending time with his daughter. Harley also enjoyed playing pool and visiting with friends at his shop. Harley is survived by his daughter, Jessica Rice, and her special friend, Dustin Davies, both of Watertown, SD; and two grandchildren: Joslyn and Jaidryn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

I was very sorry to hear of Butch's death. I remember him as a young boy and man when he lived across the road from us, and later when he lived on the farm where I grew up and farmed the land with his father. Your family will be in my prayers tonight.

Butch, Kevin and I have so many great memories we shared with you we really don't know where to start. From being the best man at our wedding to those great Corn Fest parties! We are going to miss you like crazy!!

Butch was always a very kind person. Surely he is with the angels now. He will be missed dearly, and never forgotten by those who loved him.
