Funeral services for George B. Gjerde, age 98, of Watertown, SD, formerly of Hazel, SD, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2010, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Vienna, SD. Rev. Kathy Hibbert and Rev. David Larson will officiate. Music will be provided by Dorothy Fuller, organist, Kristin Vandersnick, pianist, Rev. David Larson, soloist, and a quartet of Lloyd Brekke, Matt & Kristin Vandersnick, and Renae Singrey. George passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at a local care center in Burial will be in Visitation will be in Crawford Funeral Chapel, George was born on November 4, 1911, at On February 12, 1959, George married Twyla J. | George was like everyone's favorite uncle even if you were just a little neighbor girl. Hazel and the surrounding area has lost a very special man,and heaven has gained one. May God go with him and with you Twyla!!! |

| George was our families "adopted" grandpa when I was little! He will surely be missed my all! I will always remember his candy orange slices! Twyla, I am so sorry for your loss. You both will forever be our grandparents. |

| George will certainly be missed. He was a very special man and I will always treasure the times that I spoke, and joked, with him. God has taken a very wonderful man to be with him in heaven. God's blessings, Twyla! |
