Roger W. Widen

     Memorial services for Roger W. Widen, age 67, of Henry, SD, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD.  Pastor Jim Biswell will officiate. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Tuesday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service. Roger passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010, at the hospital in Watertown.



     Honorary pallbearers will be all of Roger’s family and friends.     



     Roger was born on April 8, 1943, in York County, PA.  He later moved to South Dakota and lived in several area towns. 



     On September 10, 1993, Roger married Debbie (Rickard) Marko in Watertown, SD.  Following their marriage, the couple lived in Arkansas and then returned to South Dakota and lived in Goodwin, Castlewood, and Clear Lake.  At the time of his death, Roger was living with his wife, Debbie, in Henry. 



     He enjoyed fishing and hunting, loved watching and feeding birds, going to flea markets, playing Dominos and cards, selling items on E-bay, and visiting with friends.



     Roger is survived by his wife, Debbie, of Henry, SD; four sons: Todd, Tim, and Tom Widen all of Michigan and Joe Widen of Indiana; two step-sons: Jim (Allison) Marko of Harrisburg, SD, and Ron (Mindy) Marko of Stockholm, SD; four step-grandchildren; and one sister, Dianne Kjellsen, of Watertown, SD.



     He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Beulah “Boots” Widen.

debbie, we were really shocked to hear of rogers passing. in all the years he lived in and around amity, arkansas he could always make you laugh and make a better day. allways enjoyed talking with him. we know he is in a better place.

Deb, I am at a loss of words. I am truly glad I met you and "Regor" when I did 16 years ago. Both of you took me under your wings and hung on for the ride....I will never forget either one of you and know my thoughts are with you at this time. Sending Big Mac's on with Regor!!!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I was shocked to hear of Roger's passing. Roger will be missed, I know that it is hard to hear but at least now he has peace and no pain. Poor guy seemed to have suffered alot in the short time I knew you guys. I am glad that I got the privilege of knowing him.
