Graveside services for Gary Allen Voeltz, age 77, of Watertown, SD, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.  Rev. Christina Matson will officiate.  Gary passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010, at his residence.

     Military graveside honors will be provided by Codington County Post #17 of the American Legion of Watertown and the Military Funeral Honors Team of the SD Army National Guard.

     There will be no visitation.  Arrangements are being handled by the Crawford Funeral Chapel of Watertown, SD.

     Gary was born on June 3, 1933, in Oliver County, ND, to Glen and Alice (Bergstad) Voeltz.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  He lived in Big Stone City, SD, until enlisting in the US Air Force in November of 1951.  Gary was honorably discharged in November of 1955.  He lived in Twin, Brooks, SD, Minneapolis, MN, and Lead, SD.  Gary worked at the Homestake Mine in Lead until moving to Watertown in 1980, where he owned and operated a trucking business for 15 years.  One pastime that Gary enjoyed most in life was traveling.

     Gary is survived by one son, Mark Voeltz, and his fiancé, Rebecca Hensley, both of Duluth, MN; two stepsons:  Rick Angerhofer of Gillette, WY, and Randy Angerhofer of Sturgis, SD; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Millard Voeltz of LaBolt, SD, and Jim Voeltz of Big Stone City, SD; and two sisters: Robin (Bill) Wulf of Big Stone City, SD, and Virginia Dawson of Ortonville, MN.

     He was preceded in death by one son, Judd Allen Voeltz; one great-grandchild; his parents; one brother; and one sister.
