Funeral services for Alice Myrtle Moyer, age 95, of Watertown, SD, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Watertown.  Rev. Keith Petersen will officiate. Music will be provided by Ellen Heisner, organist, with congregational singing. Alice passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010, in a care center in Estelline, SD.  She was the widow of Carl W. Moyer.

     Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD.  Honorary pallbearers will be Alice’s grandchildren.  Active pallbearers will be Alice’s grandsons:  Randy Henning, Tom Henning, Steven Henning, Dennis Moyer, Jr., Larry Moyer, Ron Moyer, Brian Henning, and Lonnie Moyer. 

     Visitation will be at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and in the church on Wednesday prior to the services.  The family is requested to meet at the church on Wednesday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service.

     Alice was born on January 2, 1915, in Codington County, SD, to Otto A. and Ida (Fromke) Bunde.  She attended rural school and worked with her parents on the family farm.

     On September 27, 1939, Alice married Carl W. Moyer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rauville, SD.  The couple lived on a farm north of Watertown.  They moved into Watertown in October of 1992. 

     Alice was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, playing cards and especially enjoyed playing bingo.

     She is survived one son, Dennis (Landy) Moyer, of Watertown, SD; three daughters:  Marilyn (Jack) Henning of Watertown, SD, Ardis (Jim) Henning of Henry, SD, and Norma Strege of St. Cloud, MN; one daughter-in-law, Alice Moyer, of Watertown, SD; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Rev. Gilbert (Hazelle) Bunde, of Watertown, SD.

     Alice was preceded in death by her husband,Carl; one son, Clayton; one granddaughter, Debra Ann Henning, her parents; and four brothers.
