Thelma F. Armbruster

     Funeral services for Thelma F. (Mrs. Willard) Armbruster, age 81, of Wallace, SD, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in Calvary Lutheran Church, Wallace.  Rev. Scott Dempster will officiate.  Music will be provided by Dorothy Anderson as organist with congregational singing.  Thelma passed away due to Alzheimer’s on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at a care center in Lake Norden, SD. 



     Burial will be in Telemarken Cemetery, rural Wallace.  Honorary pallbearers will be:  Thelma's friends and neighbors, the Golden Living CenterLake Norden staff and residents, her great-grandchildren: Cael, Blaize, and Gavon Larson, the Country View Assisted Living staff, and the Prairie Lakes Hospice staff.  Active pallbearers will be: Amity Armbruster, Chelsea Larson, Allen Fedje, Arnie Mastel, Joe Purfeerst, and Kornel Wibeto.



     Visitation will be at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and in the church on Tuesday prior to the services.  The family is requested to meet at the church on Tuesday by 10:00 for a prayer service. 



     Thelma was born On August 4, 1929, in Maydell Township, Clark County, SD, to Theodore and Florence (Meyer) Moe.  She was baptized at Telemarken Lutheran Church.  Thelma attended rural school, southwest of Wallace.  She attended Wallace High School for a short time before going to work for her father on the family farm. 



     On February 16, 1947, Thelma married Willard Armbruster.  The couple farmed near Wallace for many years before retiring. 



     Thelma was a long time member of Calvary Lutheran Church and Calvary W.M.F.  She enjoyed farming, visiting with friends and neighbors, and being with her family.   



     She is survived by her husband, Willard, of Wallace, SD; one son, Warren (Valri) Armbruster, of Wallace, SD; two grandchildren:  Amity Armbruster and her friend Josh Millar of Portsmouth, NH, and Chelsea (Beau) Larson of Webster, SD; three great-grandchildren:  Cael, Blaize, and Gavon Larson; one brother, Martin “Bill” (Pat) Moe, of Watertown; and her nieces and nephews.



     Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Our deepest sympathys to all of you. Thelma will be truely missed. She was a true friend. I will always remember the fun times we had when we worked together at church and our very special visits. Larry & Judy
