Ruth A. Determan

        Memorial Funeral Mass for Ruth A. Determan, age 63, of Watertown, SD, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Church, Watertown, SD.  Fr. Joseph Forcelle will officiate.  Music will be provided by the Immaculate Conception Choir.  After a lengthy battle with cancer, Ruth passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at a hospital in Watertown.  She was the widow of Robert Determan.



     Burial will be at a later date.  Urnbearer will be Ruth’s grandson, Jake Tschetter.    The family is requested to meet at the church on Saturday by 10:30 a.m. to attend the service.



     Arrangements are being handled by Crawford Funeral Chapel of Watertown.  



     Ruth was born on December 15, 1947, at Webster, SD, to Peter and Alice (Schefter) Tschetter.  She attended grade school in Waubay, SD, and graduated from Waubay High School.  Following graduation, she attended Watertown Business University. 



     She married Robert Determan.  Ruth was employed by Midland Life until the company moved to Sioux Falls, SD.  Ruth moved to Sisseton, SD, and worked at a bank and later at Super Valu.  She then moved back to Watertown and worked at Dakota Sioux Casino.



     Ruth enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  She also collected bells and teacups.



     She is survived by her son, Lee Tschetter, of Casper, WY; two grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Ellen Schommer, of Wayzata, MN.



     Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

So sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. My thoughts and prayer's are with you. I will miss her visits(when she got her hair cut) and catching up on our old school mates. May God bless you always.

Sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. Will miss that unforgettable smile and friendly conversations at bingo. May God's blessings be with you at this very difficult time.
