Darwin was born on August 22, 1956, in Watertown, SD, to LaVern and Delores (Currey) Meseberg. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, where he was presently a member.  He attended grade school at Rauville District #26 and graduated from Watertown High School in 1974.  Darwin farmed with his father and brother his entire life.  They established Meseberg Brother’s Dairy in 1984 and have operated it for 25 years.

Darwin married Sherri Beynon on October 5, 1985, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.  They lived in a house that was moved onto the family farm.  To this union three children were born:  Derek, Dustin, and Shayla.  Darwin and Sherri celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in October of 2010.

Until his death, Darwin was the drummer for the family band, The L-Dee’s, for the past 30 years. He loved riding horses and playing with and watching his children play basketball.  He enjoyed his woodworking hobby and the family’s three Cocker Spaniel dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Sherri; two sons: Derek and Dustin; one daughter, Shayla; his mother, Delores Meseberg; his siblings: Dianne (Sylvester) Walkins, Larry (Connie) Meseberg, and LaDonna (Joel) Koustrup, all of Watertown, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

I remember going up to the farm and uncle Dar would always play basketball, baseball or kickball with all of us kids, even if he was tired after doing the chores. I will miss you Uncle Dar you always used to make us laugh.
