Dennis W. West

     Dennis W. West, 72, died Saturday, August 20, 2011, in the Watertown hospital.  Funeral services will be Thursday, August 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Watertown Christian Church, formerly South Lake Church of Christ in Watertown with Pastor Conrad Hilman officiating.



     Burial will be in the Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery at Lake Norden.



     Visitation will be from 4-7p.m. on Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Chapel.



     Dennis was born August 31, 1938, in Watertown, SD, to Galen and Helen (Cushman) West.  He married Betty L. Crandall on April 25, 1964.  They lived in rural Castlewood for many years and most recently in Watertown.



     He was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church at Lake Norden.   Dennis enjoyed gardening, reading, and talking on the phone.  His most cherished times were spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.



     Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Roger and Alton (Junior) West; and two grandsons, Jaime Fairchild and Zane Jones.  Survivors include his wife Betty, daughters, Bonita (David) TerEick, Shannon (Craig) Kuemper, Wendy West, Beth Paladeni, and Sarah (Darryl) Legg all of Watertown, SD; sons, Todd (Nadine) West, Hayti, SD, Jason (JoAnn)West and Wade (Victoria) West, Pasco, WA, Justin (Diana) West, Cheney, WA, Christopher (Kelly) West, Watertown, SD, Dennis (Julianne) West, Rio Rico, AZ, and Cody West, Yankton, SD; sisters, Marjorie (Daryl) Baker, Castlewood, SD, Mary Pester, Martha (Conrad) Hilman, and Anita (Paul) Levijoki, all of Hayti, SD; brothers, David (Marlis) West, Farmington, MN, Joe (Barbara) West, Watertown, SD, Wesley (Joyce) West and Myron (Karla) West, Hayti, SD and Steven West, Springfield, SD; 42 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
