Henry C. Larson, age 92, of Watertown, SD passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at a local care center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev. Stephen Lauricella will officiate. Music will be provided by Marcia Jelsma as organist and Judy Everson as soloist. Burial will be in St. Pauli Cemetery, rural Wallace, SD. Pallbearers will be: Leah Mohr, Richard Herr, Robert Herr, Joe Herr, Dimitri Herr, Ginivra Herr, Colin Herr, Kelsey Herr, and Cole Herr. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown and in the church on Tuesday prior to the services. Henry was born September 24, 1919, at Pipestone, MN to Haakon and Caroline (Nordby) Larson. He moved with his family to Wheatland Township, Day County, SD in 1925. He attended rural school near the family farm. He farmed with his parents and brother, Leo. He enjoyed farming and raising Hereford cattle. Henry married Thelma Rindahl November 19, 1950, at Fron Church in Roslyn, SD. She passed away in 1951. On November 13, 1976, he married Marion Nelson Herr at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown. She passed away on January 30, 2005. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a longtime member of Sons of Norway. He enjoyed gardening, going to auction sales, jigsaw puzzles of farm scenery and visiting with family and friends. Henry is survived by three step-sons: Rick (Pat) Herr, Doug (AnnRae) Herr, and Dennis Herr all of Watertown, SD; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leo; and his wives, Thelma and Marion.

To Rick, Dennis, and Doug. We are sorry to hear about the passing of Henry. He was such a nice man and we really enjoyed visiting with him. He was so good to your mom who I loved dearly and he was able to spend a few years with her while she was healthy.You guys have taken good care of Henry and I know he thought the world of you. He's in heaven now and I am sure it's a much better place. We are thinking of you. God Bless You!!!
