Doris Lorraine Jacobson, 90, of Watertown, SD passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown. Services will be Friday, January 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons: Brian Jacobson, Quent Olson, Rick Shawn Jacobson, Chris Diekman, and Tony Jacobson; and one great-grandson, Nick Jacobson. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Reflections Unit at Jenkins Living Center. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown. There will be a private graveside service for family at Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake, SD following the funeral service. Doris was born at Luther Hospital in Watertown on October 19, 1921, to Guy and Mabel (Cutting) Halse. She was the youngest of eleven children. She was raised on the family farm near Florence, SD where she attended elementary school and graduated from Waubay High School. On December 31, 1943, she married Albert M. “Buster” Jacobson while he was serving in the US Navy during WWII. They lived in San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Bremerton, WA before returning to the Watertown area following the war. They purchased the Ford dealership in Clear Lake in 1960. Mr. Jacobson died in 1971. Doris moved to northwest Watertown in 1987, where she resided until entering Jenkins Living Center in 2010. Doris gave her heart to the Lord after the death of her husband, and she continued to walk with Him all the days of her life. She was known to her family as a prayer warrior who was continually praying for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and whoever else the Lord put on her heart. She loved reading God’s Word and sharing the love of Jesus whenever she had the opportunity. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends as a person of profound faith who had a wonderful heart of compassion. Grateful for having shared her life are two sons: Rick (Deana) Jacobson and Albert M. “Scooter” (Cindi) Jacobson III, all of Watertown, SD; one daughter, Karen (Loren) Diekman of Watertown, SD; son-in-law, Mike Olson of Loveland, CO; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Shirley Halse of Clear Lake, SD; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 5 sisters, her husband, and a daughter, Sandy Olson. |

| My Deepest Sympathy to your family. Your Mother was a real special lady. I have so many memories of your mom. All the sleep overs we had were so much fun, and your mom was always so sweet and put up with us, I'm sure there were times when we drove her a little nuts, but she would never say anything... May all you memories get you through this very difficult time. In His Grip, LeAnn |

| Our sympathy to the Jacobson family. What a lady!! She was the best bread maker I ever knew! I remember her making "dough gobs",as Karen called them. Mmmmmmmmm good! There are so many memories I have of Doris. All the times at the lake before moving to Clear Lake. Remember how sad we all were the day we had to make that move?? She was the best neighbor lady ever!! Mom and Shirley enjoyed their visits with your Mom. They will always be special memories for them also. God Ble |
