Betty R. Wright Dec 03 1921 - Feb 29 2012
Betty R. Wright, age 90, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at a care center in Watertown. She was the widow of Francis Wright. Memorial services will be held at a later date at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown. Betty was born on December 3, 1921, at Pratt, KS, to Roy and Daisy (Fish) O’Dell. She attended school in Pratt and graduated from Pratt High School. On January 1, 1941, Betty married Francis Wright at Pratt. She worked in Louisiana as a telephone operator during WWII and then moved back to Kansas where she worked as a seamstress in a department store. Later, she worked as a dental assistant and also a home health secretary. She and Francis retired in Kansas. Betty moved to Watertown in May of 1998 to be closer to her son. She was a Cub Scout leader and was a member of UTU (United Transportation Union) Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling with Francis and spending time with young people. She especially enjoyed her martinis with Irene. Betty is survived by her son, Rich (Linda) Wright, of Watertown, SD; two grandchildren, Seth (Michaela) Wright and Sara Wright; and three great-grandchildren: Zoe Grace, Libby Jo and Hunter Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Rich so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I do remeber her and she was a very sweet lady. Though she will be missed here, she will be so welcomed in heaven by all who got to go before her. rn

Richie and Linda:

So sorry to hear about Betty. We were just talking about you guys the other day and wondered how Betty was. Please let us know if you will be bringing her back here at some point. We would like to see you. We are sorry for your loss, it seems like we are losing a lot of the parents lately, guess that confirms we are getting older!
