Lila M. Miles Aug 30 1929 - Apr 28 2012
Lila M. (Mrs. Quentin “Q.C.”) Miles, age 82, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Watertown. The celebrant will be Fr. John Lantsberger. Music will be provided by Donna Williams as organist with Blaine Martian as song leader and Don Seim as soloist. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Clark, SD. Pallbearers will be Lila’s grandsons: Tony Miles, Paul Miles, Clark Miles, Cory Hanson, John Miles, Andy Miles and Patrick Miles. Visitation will be at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Scripture Wake service at 7:30 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to any charity of choice. Lila was born on August 30, 1929, in Turton, SD, to Julian and Myrtle (Fortin) Remily. She attended and graduated from Doland High School. On June 3, 1947, Lila married Quentin C. Miles at Doland, SD. Lila made many friends around the state in the communities of: Gann Valley, Forestburg, McIntosh, Mellette, Clark and Watertown. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Holy Name Catholic Church. She loved music, gardening, crocheting, quilting, crafts and outdoor activities. Lila was devoted to Quentin, her husband of 65 years, and her family that included 11 children: James (Kathy) Miles of Sioux Falls, SD, Patrick (Karen) Miles of Sacramento, CA, Mary Miles of Portland, OR, John Miles of Shakopee, MN, Michael Miles of Denver, CO, Maureen Miles of Detroit, MI, Terry Miles of Cherokee, IA, Mark (Jane) Miles of Grand Rapids, MI, Myra (Jeff) Maxwell of Oklahoma City, OK, Casey Miles of Mesa, AZ, and Marta (Troy) Huls of Sioux Falls, SD; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Maury (Judy) Remily of Rapid City, SD, and Bud (Mildred) Remily of Doland, SD; and five sisters: Gladys Bowman of Florida, Dorothy Hagerty of Rapid City, SD, Rachel Coates of Rapid City, SD, Elaine Rahm of Turton, SD, and Marvel (Jim) Mann of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lorene.

Great Uncle Quentin-
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Great Aunt Lila. We trust that she is in a better place and is looking over everyone she loves with a very watchful eye. We are thinking of you and wish you peace during this difficult time.
