James B. “Jim” Mork, age 56, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the V.A. Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.  Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown.  Rev. Christina Matson will officiate.  Music will be provided by A. J. Sherrill as organist.  There will be no visitation.

Military honors will be provided by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1054 of Watertown.

Jim was born on January 30, 1956, at Minneapolis, MN, to Truman and Sedora (Sparstad) Mork.  He was a graduate of Watertown High School and entered the U.S. Navy in 1974 and was honorably discharged in 1978.  Jim then attended and graduated from LATI in Watertown.

On September 14, 1985, Jim married Lorrie Hanson at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown.  He lived in Watertown and worked at Smith Equipment and Western Machining for many years. 

He enjoyed his motorcycles and camping and belonged to ABATE and AA.  He loved spending time with his granddaughter and also loved wintering where the weather was warmer.  Jim really appreciated all of the hospitality of the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

Jim is survived by his two daughters, Renee Mork and her fiancé, Tyler Benda, of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sarah Mork of Watertown, SD; one granddaughter, Teagan Benda; his brother, Donald (Bonnie) Mork, of Nisswau, MN; and his sister, Shelby (Norman) Miles, of Meadow, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
