Brian D. Kannas

     Brian Dale Kannas, age 35, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at a local hospital.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown.  Pastor Jim Biswell will officiate. 



     Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.  Pallbearers will be:  Jason Jerde, James Erickson, Andy Rieffenberger, Dallas Meseberg, Kara Baker, and Eric Markve. 



     Visitation will be on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown and will continue at the chapel on Tuesday prior to services.



     Brian was born on June 24, 1977, in Watertown, SD, to Randy Kannas and Nancy (Lantgen) Moder.  He attended school in Watertown, Waverly, and graduated from Aberdeen High School.  He enjoyed writing and wrote a book, “Scars to Prove It,” a memoir of his life, as well as a book of poetry.  He enjoyed the library and reading, and found comfort in reading the Bible.  Music was part of his life and he enjoyed listening to it as well as playing his guitar.  Brian was a friend to everyone he met and he loved being with people.



     He is survived by his parents, Randy Kannas and Nancy Moder both of Watertown, SD; two brothers, Brant Kannas of Watertown, SD, and Robert Moder of Fargo, ND; two sisters, Jill Moder of Willmar, MN, and Morgan Arbach of Sioux Falls, SD; his paternal grandmother, Lucille Kannas; and maternal grandparents, Ray and Peggy Lantgen of Watertown, SD.



     Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dale Kannas, and his great-grandparents.

Sorry for the loss of Brian. I remember him as a small boy that was in my daycare with his brother Brandt. They were such good boys. May your memories bring you comfort. Good Bless your Family
