Alan Davidson Obituary
Alan Davidson, age 66, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015, at a local care center in Watertown. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Robert Weiss and Pastor Brian Davidson will officiate.
Music will be provided by Beth Weiss as organist with Burdell Gauger and Robbyn Givens as vocalists.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Saturday from 11a.m. to 1p.m. prior to services.
Burial will be at the Ortley Cemetery in Ortley, SD.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Prairie Lakes Dialysis Unit and the Golden Living Center Staff. Active pallbearers will be Mike Davidson, James Pierce, Jared Schaefer, Austin Schaefer, Caleb Schaefer and Warren Hovland.
Alan was born on March 15, 1949, in Webster, SD, to Lester and Phyllis (Monserud) Davidson.
He was raised in Ortley, SD, where he lived for twenty years.
He graduated from Waubay High School in 1967.
He then attended Watertown Business University and graduated with a business degree in 1969. Alan moved to Minneapolis, MN.
He started working at Travelers Express (MoneyGram) and worked there for 31 years until he retired at the age of 51.
Alan then moved to Ortley after his retirement in 2000.
In 2002 he moved to Watertown.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Watertown and former member of Ortley Free Lutheran Church.
Alan enjoyed music, especially the Beatles.
He loved to sing and enjoyed reading and joking around.
Alan is survived by his five brothers: Arden Davidson, of Ortley, SD, Brian Davidson, of Dickinson, ND, Bruce (Mary) Davidson, of Fargo, ND, Elton Davidson, of Ortley, and Jan ‘JD' (Chris) Davidson, of Springfield, MN; and one sister, Debbie (Matt) Schaefer, of Leola, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Loren.
