Arlene Jean Propst, age 77, of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly Goodwin, SD, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015, in Sioux Falls.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015, at John M. Bliss VFW Post #628 in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Watertown.
Rev. Bob Weiss will officiate.
Music will be provided by Beth Weiss, organist, and Darrel Crocker, soloist.
The family is requested to meet at the church on Saturday by 10:30 a.m. for a prayer service.
Visitation will be on Saturday prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake, SD.
Honorary pallbearers are Arlene's grandchildren.

Dan Bather, Greg Anderson, Brad Anderson, Brian Siegfried, Ed Frericks and Miles Propst.
Arlene was born on January 23, 1938, to Paul and Evelyn (West) Siegfried in Goodwin, SD.
The family lived on a farm near Goodwin.
Arlene attended in school in Goodwin, graduating in 1956.
After high school, Arlene worked at Deuel County National Bank in Clear Lake, SD, as a teller, bookkeeper and loan officer.
She was employed there for 22 years.
In 1958, Arlene married Harlan Propst and they made their home on his family farm near Goodwin.
Their family soon grew with four sons: James, David, Daniel and Lyndon.
A beautiful daughter, Kay Lynn, was taken from them during infancy.
She always held a special place in her mother's heart. Arlene was always helping with chores on the farm. Their household was busy with four boys, but they could count on her to bake bars and cookies for them.
Arlene worked at Arrowhead Seed in Watertown for seven years before moving to Sioux Falls in 1985.
She worked at Nelson Laboratory as an accountant and managed TJ Cinnamons for a few years.
She then worked at Midwest Rehab as an accountant until her retirement in 2009.
Arlene was very active in her church, First Baptist Church of Watertown, teaching Sunday School as well as belonging to the women's groups and helping with building projects. She was also a member of the M. O. C. A. , American Legion Auxiliary Post 15 and the VFW Auxiliary where she was Post 628 Treasurer from 1991-1996 and president of Post 628 Ladies Auxiliary from 1991-1992, Ladies Auxiliary state president from 2000-2001 and Ladies Auxiliary State Treasurer from 2001-2014.
A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Arlene is survived by her sons:
James (Diann) Propst of Huron, SD, David (Jody) Propst of Lehigh, IA, Daniel (Ann) Propst of Pierre, SD, and Lyndon (Juanita) Propst of Goodwin, SD;
9 grandchildren:
Miles, Amanda, Aaron, Tyler, Rachel and Shantel Propst, Melissa (Dan) Bather, Erica (Jordan) Woodbury and Dandi Townsend; one great-grandson, Jaxson; and siblings: Rollin Siegfried of Eagle River, WI, Lavonne (Virgil) Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Keith (Cheri) Siegfried of Goodwin, SD.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Lynn; her parents, Paul and Evelyn Siegfried; one brother, Daryl; and her special friend, Don Nelson.
