Beverly Boswell Obituary
Beverly Rae Boswell, age 70, of Mesquite, TX, formerly Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at her residence.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Rev. Janet Miller will officiate.
Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. prior to services on Saturday, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Beverly's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.
Beverly was born on December 16, 1944, in Erwin, SD, to George and Venita (Bussman) Quam.
She spent her early years and attended school in Erwin.
Beverly married Ralph Boswell at a young age.
The couple had four children.
She had various jobs in and around Watertown including: Spies Super Value, Prairie Market, and Quadee.
At 32 years of age she received her GED and became an owner and operator of Boswell Trucking.
Following the couples divorce, Beverly owned "Bev's Pheasant Inn."
While running her restaurant she also received her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and Social Services.
She moved to Texas where she received her Bachelors and Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and Social Services.
Beverly started working for Child Protective Services for the state of Texas.
She worked there for close to 15 years until recently retiring.
She enjoyed traveling worldwide and continuing her education.
She was a very resourceful and independent woman.
Beverly had a huge love for children, whether it be neighborhood children, family, or the children she helped through the state.
She liked spending time with family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beverly is survived by two sons: Michael (Ruth Ann) Boswell of Goodwin, SD, and Royal (Sheila) Boswell of Pierre, SD; two daughters: Starla (Jeff) Sumner of Henry, SD, and Ruby (Doug) Schiernbeck of Watertown; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gloria Gallisath of Watertown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James; one sister, Rose; and one nephew, Donald.
