Dolores Kreger Obituary
Dolores E. Kreger, age 89, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at a care center in Watertown.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015, at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Rev. John Carter will officiate.
Music will be provided by Karen Livingston as organist with congregational singing.
The family is requested to meet at the church on Monday by 1:15 p.m. for a prayer service.
Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to services. Arrangements are being handled by the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel of Watertown.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
Pallbearers will be:
David Edison, Dale Tesch, Robert Werner, John Andree, Courtney Livingston, and Mark Schaffer.
Dolores was born on September 11, 1925, at Watertown, SD, to Frank and Effie (Putney) Kreger.
She was baptized and confirmed at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown.
She graduated from Watertown High School. Dolores' father passed away when she was in her early 20's.
She worked at Bartron Hospital for 12 years and later at Balsiger's (Pond's) Bakery for 35 years, retiring from there.
She enjoyed traveling after retirement.
She was a life-long member of St. Martin's and was very active in the ladies' organizations, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School for over 30 years.
Dolores enjoyed crocheting, crafting and baking, especially deserts.
She loved getting together with friends and family and playing games.
Dolores is survived by one nephew, Dennis Kreger, of Huron, SD; two nieces: Carolyn Jordan of Huron, SD, and Kathy (Rich) Reid of Brookings, SD; her great-nieces and great nephews: Lindsey (Eric) Benson, Timothy Reid and Rebecca Reid; and her cousins: Jeanniene (Kieth) Best and Norma (Ellis) Long.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Francis, Omer and Virgil; and one sister, Grace.
