Jane Burt Obituary

Jane Esther Burt, age 88, of Milbank, SD, formerly Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016, at a care center in Milbank. She was the widow of Robert W. "Bill" Brasier and Richard "Dick" Burt. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev. Keith Petersen will officiate.

Music will be provided by Paul Kanzenbach as soloist accompanied by Matthew Kanzenbach. The family is requested to meet at the church on Friday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service.







Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Friday.





Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown, SD.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Dump, Tim Noeldner, Dan Noeldner, Jeff Altom, Jason Kanzenbach and Brian DeSchepper.







Jane was born on February 24, 1928, at Watertown, SD, to Helmuth and Ida (Buetow) Noeldner. She attended school through the eighth grade and worked on the farm during WWII, 1941 to 1946.





On August 30, 1953, Jane married Robert W. "Bill" Brasier at St. John's Lutheran church, Mazeppa Township, Summit, SD. The couple lived on a ranch near Butte, MT, where Jane worked for Safeway Grocery before her marriage to Bill.

Bill died in a drowning accident in Big Hole River on May 20, 1957. Jane moved back to Watertown and worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. She married Richard C. "Dick" Burt on May 25, 1963, in Milbank, SD. They lived in Winona, MN, for 11 years. Dick and Jane moved back to Watertown in 1974. Jane worked for Sears for a total of 30 years between Watertown and Winona.

She also worked for Westgate Antiques in Watertown for a couple of years.

Jane had received her GED in 1990 and started working in the Watertown School district as an aide in 1993, retiring in 2000. Dick passed away on June 23, 1993.





She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and church circle. Jane enjoyed many things in life, including: reading, gardening, traveling, crocheting and embroidery. She also enjoyed working with and riding horses.





Jane is survived by two of her step-children, Kay Lynn Rose of Sioux Falls, SD, and Lori (Rick) Dump of Valley Springs, SD; three step grandchildren: Kimberly Jenkins, Robyn Cruz and Ryan Dump; two step great-grandchildren, Katelyn Gassaway and Keegan Cruz; and two sisters, Joyce Kasuske of Milbank, SD, and Judy (Richard) Kanzenbach of Osseo, WI.





She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill; her second husband, Dick; one step daughter, Jolene Baldwin; her parents; and one brother, Orville Noeldner.
