Julie Michel Obituary
Julie R. Michel, age 51, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016, at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Rev. Steve Biswell will officiate. The family is requested to meet at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel on Friday for a family prayer service.
Visitation will be held prior to services at the chapel on Friday.
Burial will be at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD. Active pallbearers will be: Trish Michel, Karla Michel, Kevin Michel and Gary Michel.
Memorials may be given to the American Legion Auxiliary.
Julie was born on February 28, 1965, in Sioux Falls, to George and JoAnn (DeKramer) Michel. She was a 1983 graduate of O'Gorman High School in Sioux Falls. After graduation Julie started working in Sioux Falls doing data entry for a trucking company. She later moved to Watertown, where she met Bob, and continued to work for a trucking company. She was currently employed at County Fair in Watertown in the meat department.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as treasurer for many years. Julie enjoyed making quilts for many benefits, and also riding her motorcycle. She loved her cat, Chloe, and also being around people and having a good time.
Julie is survived by her father, George (Irene) Michel of Spooner, WI; her step-daughter, Stacey Gruenstein of Aberdeen, SD; her brothers: Greg (Cindi) Michel of Phoenix, AZ, Doug (Sheri) Michel of Long Grove, IA, Gary Michel of Spooner, WI, Paul Michel of Bettendorf, IA, and Kevin (Dawn) Michel of Mandan, ND; her sisters: Karen Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD, Karla Michel of Mountain Home, AR, and Trish Michel of St. Paul, MN; her special companion, Bob Maloney of Watertown, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
