Marion was born on January 24, 1925, in Albee, SD, to Emil and Edith (Wise) Bunting. She was a graduate of Revillo High School, Revillo, SD.
On January 27, 1945, Marion was united in marriage to Edwin Nordquist, in Mineral Wells, TX. They made their home in Albee before transferring to many other places due to Ed's job. They moved to Watertown in 1984, where they continued to make their home. After Ed's retirement in 1988 they traveled south for 20 years to escape the South Dakota winters.
She was a member of First Congregational UCC, PEO Chapter V, VFW Auxiliary and many church groups including the Women's Fellowship and church choir. Some of her favorite pass-times were gardening, crafts, crocheting, playing the piano and organ and dancing with her husband. Marion and Ed loved camping and found great friends and neighbors in Wisconsin to join them for many years of fun together. They traveled extensively through the US including Alaska and Hawaii and also Canada and Mexico. She enjoyed writing letters and notes to friends and family and made sure everyone received a personal (often handmade) card for special occasions. She also enjoyed researching the family's genealogy and attending the family reunions. Marion loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marion is survived by her children: Janell Holzwarth (Jack Carpenter) of Watertown, Neal (Susan) Nordquist of Fargo, ND, and Kari (Steve) Carter of Watertown; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 13 step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; and many other family members and friends.
