Jeanie was born on August 29, 1929, at home in Watertown, SD, to Walter and Myrtle (Springer) Myers. She grew up in the country in Phipps Township located between Henry, SD, and Wallace, SD. Jeanie attended Belmont #42 country school for eight years and then attended Florence High School, Florence, SD. She then attended Lutheran School of Nursing in Watertown, graduating as an LPN and worked in the Clear Lake Hospital. Jeanie met Don in 1946 in front of the old Watertown Lutheran Hospital, where she was working at the time. He asked her for a date and she said it became a regular thing from then on.

On December 28, 1950, Jeanie and Don were united in marriage. She continued her work as an LPN, working at the nursing homes in Lake Norden and Madison, SD. Following her retirement from nursing, Jeanie worked for Senior Companions for 10 years.

She was a baptized member of the Watertown Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed playing softball as a young girl. Jeanie loved cooking for her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.

Jeanie is survived by her children: Daryl (Margo) Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD, Harlan Anderson (fiancé Sharon) and David Anderson all of Madison, SD, Donald, Jr. "Skip" Anderson of Watertown and Darla (Frankie) McCrary of Lake Norden; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four sisters: Naomi Laurence of Watertown, Sandee Makovsky of Calimesa, CA, Rosalee Schultz of Robbinsdale, MN, and Mary Meyers of Yucaipi, CA.
