Sanders Faughn Obituary

Sanders "Lee" Faughn, age 71, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.

The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Friday by 2:30 p.m. for a prayer service.



Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and will continue Friday prior to servcies at the chapel.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Military graveside honors will be conducted by Frank H. Adams Post #750 of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Codington County Post #17 of the American Legion, both of Watertown and the Military Funeral Honors Team of the SD Army National Guard.

Pallbearers will be Marlin Heathcote, Merlin Heathcote, Malvin Heathcote, Jacob Heathcote, Bryce Troska and Daren Faughn.



Lee was born on June 18, 1944, in Butler County, MO, to Sanders and Alice (Bailey) Faughn.

Lee played football for the Green Bay Packers.

He entered the U.S. Army on September 16, 1963, and was honorably discharged September 1, 1966.

He started working as a meat cutter at Lucky's Grocery Store in Phoenix, AZ. Lee retired after 35 years in the meat business.



On September 12, 1998, Lee married Rita Henrichs in Mesa, AZ. The couple continued to make their home in Phoenix, AZ.

In 2007, they moved to Watertown and have made this their home.

He was a member of the VFW, America Legion, Eagles Lodge and the Moose Club.

Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers.



Lee is survived by his wife, Rita, of Watertown; one daughter, Karin (Scott) Edgley, of Litchfield Park, AZ; three sons: Darren Faughn of Phoenix, AZ, Gaylan (Wanita) Buittner of Goodyear, AZ, and Allan Buittner of Millikon, CO; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Joyce Faughn, of California.

He was preceded in death by one stepson, Bruce Buittner; his parents; and one sister.
