Scott J. Gallisath, age 48, of Tacoma, WA, formerly of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at his mother's residence in Watertown, surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. Fr. Ken Koster and Pastor Anthony Bowers will officiate. Music will be provided by Geiry Bowers as soloist. There will be no visitation.
Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown. Military graveside honors will be conducted by Codington County Post #17 of the American Legion, of Watertown, and the Funeral Honors Team of the SD Army National Guard.
Scott was born on April 21, 1969, in Watertown, SD, to Richard and Gloria (Quam) Gallisath. He was a 1987 graduate of Watertown High School, after which he entered the U.S. Army. Following an honorable discharge, he resided in Tacoma.
On September 5, 1998, Scott was united in marriage to Naomi Hall in Tacoma. He started working at Jorgenson Optical Supply Co. in Tacoma, where he was employed at the time of his death.
He enjoyed restoring classic cars, home remodeling, his dog, Gizmo, and cooking shows. He had a passion for cooking and loved the Seattle Seahawks. Scott's family was the joy of his life.
Scott is survived by his wife, Naomi, of Tacoma, WA; his children, Snovia (Darrell) Kunkleman and Timothy Washington, all of Holton, KS; three grandchildren: Jakari, Byron and Jazlynn; his mother, Gloria Gallisath, of Watertown, SD; his brother, Alan (Candy) Gallisath, of Castlewood, SD; and five sisters: Jeanette (Roger) Rudebusch of Castlewood, SD, Sheila (Mark) Foster of Fargo, ND, Lisa Givens of Watertown, SD, Beth Gallisath (Glen Kliegle) of Watertown, SD, and Julie Gallisath (Bob Gross) of Watertown, SD.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cinnamon Jane Gallisath; his father; and his brother-in-law, Roger Givens.
