Therese E. Raml, age 87, of Goodwin, SD, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Clear Lake, SD.
She was the widow of August Raml. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg, SD.
The Celebrant will be Father Ken Koster.
Music will be provided by LeeAnn Maag as soloist, accompanied by Eileen Lindner.
The family is requested to meet at the church on Monday by 10:30 a.m. for a prayer service.
Visitation will be at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg on Sunday, May 17, 2015, from 4 to 6 p.m. with a 5:30 Scripture Wake Service followed by a Rosary.
Burial will be at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Kranzburg.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Goodwin Senior Citizens card club and the Prairie Lakes Hospice Staff.
Active pallbearers will be Ryan Raml, Jordan Raml, Gregory Raml, Joseph Raml, Ashley Ondricek and Alex Webster.
Therese was born on April 30, 1928, on the family farm in rural Goodwin, SD, to Nick and Mary (DeVille) Ries.
On November 20, 1946, Therese married August Raml at Holy Rosary Church in Kranzburg, SD.
They farmed north of Kranzburg. August passed away in 2000 and Therese continued to live on the family farm.
She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Altar Society, the Goodwin Senior Citizens card club and her extension club. Therese enjoyed baking for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also enjoyed raising violets, gardening, knitting, crocheting, canning and playing cards. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with the Rosary were a big part of her life.
Therese is survived by four sons: Daniel (Jan) Raml of Mitchell, SD, Harold (Peggy) Raml of Watertown, SD, Ronald (Kathy) Raml of Ft. Wayne, IN, Edward (Anita) Raml of Goodwin, SD; two daughters, Kathleen (Quentin) Ondricek of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Audrey (Robert) Webster of Cokato, MN; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Moes of Watertown, SD, and RoseMary Pickering of Redmond, OR; one sister-in-law, Marie Mack, of Watertown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Douglas and Dale; her parents; two brothers, Richard and Nicholas Ries and two sisters, Calverna Mack and Marie Comes.
