Arline Penner age 92, of Watertown, SD, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018, at a local care center.
She was the widow of D. Alvin Penner.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, November, 1, 2018, at the Community Bible Church in Mountain Lake, MN.
Pastor David Loewen will officiate.
The family is requested to meet at the church at 1:30 pm on Thursday for a prayer service.
Visitation will be from 12pm-2pm at the church in Mountain Lake, MN on Thursday.
Burial will be at the Mountain Lake City Cemetery in Mountain Lake, MN. Active pallbearers will be: Jared Derksen, Scott Meyer, Chuck Wiens, Loren Harder, Larry Engels and Travis Engels.
Arline was born December 15, 1925, in Mountain Lake, MN, to Dietrick and Barbara (Janzen) Heppner.
Arline attended schools in Mountain Lake, MN and later a 2 year Bible School.
It is here where she met Alvin.
On June 22, 1944, Arline married D. Alvin Penner at Mountain Lake, MN.
They started farming in the Butterfield, MN area, farming their entire life.
Arline did all the typical farm wife duties of the 1940's and 1950's.
They moved into Butterfield, MN. in 1985 and lived there for many years.
Arline was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, MN, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching young children.
Alvin passed away in December of 2003 and Arline moved to Mountain Lake, MN, where she became a member of the Community Bible Church.
In 2009 she moved to Watertown, SD, to be closer to her family.
Arline enjoyed music, singing in all the community events, and the Accopella Choir.
She enjoyed flowers, swimming and thoroughly enjoyed all the time she spent with her family.
The family extends a very special thanks to Pastor Scott Dempster and the entire Staff of Jenkins Living Center.
Arline is survived by her children: Patricia (Darrel) Derksen, Yucaipa, CA; Carol (Howard) Meyer, Watertown, SD; James Penner, Butterfield, MN; and Terry (Laura) Penner, Moorehead, MN; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and one sister, Burdine Wiens, Omaha, NE.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
