Blanche Harman, age 95, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019 in Rapid City, SD.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Rev. Paul Janke will officiate.
The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Friday by 10:30 a.m. for a prayer service. There will be no visitation.
Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Blanche was born December 28, 1923, to Charles and Amanda (Stucy) McCoy in Waseca, MN.
Blanche married Jack Harman on June 18, 1941.
After their marriage, the couple moved to Springfield, MN where Jack taught agriculture for one year. In 1942 they moved to East Lansing, MI, where Jack attended the Veterinary School of Medicine.
Following Jack's service in the military during World War II, they moved to Clarkfield, MN, where they lived for three years before moving to Watertown in 1948.
Jack passed away in 1984. She was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church as well as a member of St. Martin's Ladies Club.
She was active in the Polio Foundation and a member of the Veterinary Medical Auxiliary Program of SD.
Blanche enjoyed classical music, flowers (especially roses), fishing, baseball and playing bridge.
She enjoyed spending winter months with her daughter, Connie, and her family.
In 2007, Blanche moved to Rapid City to be near her daughter, Mary. Blanche is survived by her three daughters: Connie (Sam) Mills of Donaldsonville, GA, Rebeccah Burns of Whitefish, MT, and Mary (Greg) Bartron of Rapid City, SD; one sister, Regina Draheim of Columbia, MO; seven grandchildren: Ashley (Scott) Romme, Grayson Bartron, Patrick (Molly) Burns, Michael Burns, McCoy (Eric) Burns, Bridget (Shane) Banhart, and Jacklyn Mills; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Blanche was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Harman; her parents; her daughter, Jacqueline; her great-grandson, Jack Headley; and her brothers: Charles, Wayne, and Milo McCoy.
