David Bronson Obituary

David E. Bronson, age 76, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at his residence.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown, SD. Pastor Luke Smith will officiate. The family is requested to meet at the chapel by 1:30 p.m. for a family prayer service. Visitation will take place on Sunday, prior to the memorial service at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. There will be no burial. Honorary pallbearers are: Steve Page, Jerry Bergen, Jerry Peterson, Ron Clausen, Dave Clausen, Nancy Rieke, and all of his family and friends. Dave was born February 3, 1942, in Breckenridge, MN, to Carl E. and Beatrice (Lestikow) Bronson.

He graduated high school and went on to two years of college.

On March 24, 1962, Dave was united in marriage to Sandi Korinek, in Breckenridge, MN. Dave was a farmer's son and a good steward of the land.

He worked with farmers to take care of and improve the conditions of the soil by planting shelter belts to protect, building terraces to stop erosion, dams and dugouts to preserve the water, feed lots to improve the condition of the animals that provide food for us and many other services.

He was dedicated to his job and served over and above what was expected of him.

He worked for the Agriculture and Soil Conservation Service as a civil engineer for 42 years, and after retiring worked 10 more years for Clausen Construction.

Dave was a jack of all trades and mastered them all.

He loved hunting, fishing and traveling.

The joy of his life was his family, his eight grandchildren and most recently, his five great-grandchildren.

The most important role for him was to lead by example for his family and friends and those he met along the way. Dave is survived by his wife, Sandi, of Watertown, SD; his children: Bryan Bronson of Sioux Falls, SD, Terry Bronson of Watertown, SD and Kristi Bronson of Watertown, SD; eight grandchildren: Joshua (Alyssa) Bronson, Hillori (Stuart) Pearson, Chans (Maria) Bronson, Ciara Bronson, Madisen Bronson, Rhaelee Gronholz, Tayah Wilson and Balu Woldu; five great-grandchildren: Grant, Hannah, Penny, Benjamin and Isabella; and one brother, Steven (Jackie) Bronson of Medford, OR. Dave is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Donald.
